Granny Boot
lacing makes a stunning closure to the face of a card. Here are the
instructions to create the lacing:
Supplies
1. Trim patterned paper to 9" wide by 7" tall.
Measuring from left to right, score at 2" and 7". Print 5" x 7" photo of
choice and adhere to inside of card between two score marks.
2. Open card and lay on self-healing mat with
pattern facing down. Lightly draw vertical pencil line 1/4" in from the
edge of the left and right side flaps. Along each pencil line, mark
ticks at 1" intervals.
3. Turn the card so one flat is at the top, facing
away from you. Using the half-moon notch tip, line up leading edges of
the blade against the pencil line, centred over each tick mark. Notch
six half-moons. Line up a straight edge ruler against the pencil line
and trim away paper that has not been notched using a craft knife.
Repeat Step 3 on opposite flap.
4. Set small eyelets in centre of each half moon
notch, if desired.
5. Turn card over and fold flaps in on scores with
bone folder
6. With a generous length of floss or cording,
insert one end of floss into bottom left eyelet and the other end of
floss into the bottom right eyelet. Pull through until centred and
taunt. Continue lacing each end through the next set of eyelets until
all eyelets are laced. Tie a bow at the top. String a glass bead on the
end of each tie off.
7. Place rub-on of choice on bottom, left corner.
